Scandinavian Simplicity Meets Playful Personality

This project was an inspiring collaboration between the client and me, brought together by our shared love for Scandinavian design. With a deep appreciation for clean lines, natural materials, and functional yet beautiful spaces, we worked together to create a home that blends simplicity, warmth, and personality—a space designed to support family life while feeling effortlessly stylish.

Like many terrace homes in Dublin 6, space was limited. Careful space planning and zoning were key to making the home feel spacious, cohesive, and functional. A once-unused corner was transformed into a playful yet practical kids’ area, featuring the String Furniture—not just a design feature but a clever storage solution for books and schoolwork. A bold yellow Roly Poly chair, framed by soft sheer curtains, adds a fun yet cozy reading nook—perfect for helping with homework or simply unwinding.

At the heart of the space, the Ethnicraft table acts as the hero piece, paired with a PI bench that optimizes seating while maintaining an airy, uncluttered look. The sheer curtains behind it create a soft, serene backdrop, enhancing the sense of openness and light.

What makes this project truly special is the playful use of color. While Scandinavian interiors are often known for their neutral palettes, this home is filled with vibrant accents that reflect the energy of a young family—a pop of yellow, dusty pink tones, and a striking green Muuto pendant light. These bold yet balanced elements bring warmth, personality, and a sense of fun to the space, ensuring it feels both inviting and unique.

The result: A home that feels effortlessly complete—harmonious, inviting, and tailored to this family’s lifestyle. Every design decision was guided by the belief that a home should not only look beautiful but also enhance the way people live, move, and connect in their everyday moments.
